Manchester
Where to find events in Manchester.
Manchester packs an unusual amount into a small centre - Co-op Live and the AO Arena at one end, Band on the Wall and the Deaf Institute at the other, with HOME and the Royal Exchange covering theatre and film in between.
Which Manchester listings are worth checking?
The city's listings are split roughly three ways. Venue sites carry the gigs, and in Manchester that means checking a lot of them: Band on the Wall, Gorilla, YES, the Albert Hall and Matt & Phreds all programme independently. The arts institutions - HOME, the Royal Exchange, the Bridgewater Hall, the Whitworth - publish seasons rather than single nights. And the Northern Quarter's club and DIY scene mostly surfaces through Skiddle and Resident Advisor.
Festival season complicates it further. Manchester International Festival, the Manchester Jazz Festival and Manchester Pride each run their own programme site, which is where the full lineup lands well before the general listings guides pick it up.
The event sites below cover all three layers. Paste anything you find into CouldWe and it becomes a card you can share with whoever you were planning to go with.
