London runs more events in a week than most cities manage in a year, and no single listings site covers them all. The West End has its own ecosystem, the museums publish lates separately from exhibitions, and the best gigs are often only on the venue's own page.
Which London listings are worth checking?
If you only check one place, the big guides - Time Out, Eventbrite - will catch the headline stuff. What they miss is the long tail: a one-off talk at the Wellcome Collection, a late opening at Sir John Soane's Museum, a work-in-progress comedy night above a pub in Kentish Town. Those live on the venue's own site and nowhere else.
That is why this directory is organised by source rather than by date. The Barbican, the Southbank Centre, the National Theatre, the Roundhouse and Rich Mix all publish their own programmes months ahead. Ticketing platforms like Dice, Skiddle and Resident Advisor cover club nights and gigs the venue sites list late or not at all. Between them you get a far more complete picture than any single aggregator.
